The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving Arconas’ product components and systems, ensuring functionality, durability, and manufacturability through the application of mechanical engineering principles. Additionally, the Mechanical Engineer will provide engineering support to Operations, Production, Marketing, Sales, and our customers.

 

Arconas is a hybrid work environment. Currently, employees are required to work from the Office a minimum of three days per week. During the onboarding and training period, new hires may be expected to work from the Office up to five days per week.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Undertake mechanical drafting and design
• Ability to take projects from concept through to the design phase
• Responsible for looking after the entire product lifecycle
• Complete drawing reviews
• Knowledge of different engineering standards
• Provide R&D support to other Arconas departments
• Process ECR’s
• Complete shop and vendor support drawings
• Work with suppliers to satisfy Design-for-Manufacturing
• Recording of technical data, including PDM, ERP, and other databases as required
• Ensure that all technical information is updated in a systematic process
• Complete prototype building and validation
• Completing projects as assigned
• All other duties and tasks as required

 

Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering/design experience, along with experience in working with industrial designers
• PEng designation preferred
• Excellent SolidWorks and AutoCAD skills
• Fluent in using ERP systems, ideally Epicor
• Knowledge in GD&T
• Having a manufacturing knowledge of such materials – metals, woods, foams, plastics
• Ability to visit vendor and supplier facilities
• Strong organizational and project planning/management skills
• People-oriented, with an ability to establish relationships, credibility, and trust
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• “Can do” attitude and ability to multitask are very important for this position
