The Spatial Designer will work closely with our Sales Team, with responsibilities to contribute to the execution of innovative design concepts for global projects for the Sales Team. The role will involve utilizing your creative skills and technical knowledge to design public spaces and develop layouts using our diverse product portfolio. The role will be working alongside our global network of consultants and co-workers.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for designing layouts for new or existing transportation and government spaces in CAD software furnishing with company’s products.
  • Will collaborate closely with our Sales team and clients on projects of various scales, ensuring optimal space usage, people flow, accessibility, and refurbishment.
  • Delivery of inspirational creative conceptual design that aligns with the project goals and client vision.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and space regulations.
  • Provide layout recommendations for furnishings, electrical, and others.
  • Collaborate with different departments, Sales, R&D, Installation, Marketing etc.
  • Develop and maintain orderly and complete CAD files for all assigned projects. They must also adhere to strict deadlines while delivering high-quality plans.
  • Prepare presentation materials for proposal presentations.
  • Simplify 3D models into CAD symbols of new products, creating standard configuration illustrations.
  • Collaborate with the team in creating booth layouts, fabric selection, and product prep for trade shows.
  • Assist in creating an inviting showroom that complements products showcasing their different features and finishes.
  • Maintain swatches/finishes samples of the company's products.
  • Assist with other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in interior design or a related field
  • 1+ years of experience in the creation of space plan layouts
  • Experience and/or deep understanding of interior and product design and/or architecture.
  • Genuine passion for interior design and architecture, and a creative mindset when considering the utilization of space and optimizing people flow.
  • Extremely proficient in AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Commitment to quality, detail-oriented, flexible, adaptable, and very good at planning and organizing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong conceptual, graphic, and design skills
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback from colleagues and supervisors to improve results.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Current with local and global design trends.
  • Portfolio demonstrating previous space planning projects

Working Conditions

  • Working in an office environment or having a home office set up with appropriate internet connections to work efficiently

Physical requirements

  • Ordinary office settings physical demands, sitting, and working on a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift to 30 pounds
